Murrow Award for Overall Excellence presented by the national Radio-Television News Directors Association. The recognition reflects NBC’s success in bringing North Texas viewers the news and information they find useful.
The award is in the large-market television category for the Texas- Oklahoma region; NBC 5 will now compete for national honors. NBC 5 continues to provide compelling content on TV and the internet to area residents.

During “Decision 2006,” the station dedicated a portion of daily news coverage to national, state and local political races from Labor Day through Election Day.
