Comerica Bank Unveils Ninth Annual Drive, Expanding Reach to Benefit Local Teens in Collaboration with Nonprofits

As February ushers in the season of love, Comerica Bank is once again gearing up to spread the joy by hosting its ninth annual North Texas Prom Dress Drive. Running from Feb. 1 to Feb. 29, the event, a cornerstone of community engagement for Comerica, promises to make prom dreams a reality for local teens who may otherwise miss out on the cherished high school tradition.

A Decade of Dreams: Comerica’s Dedication to the Community

Comerica Bank, a stalwart in community development banking, has been the driving force behind this initiative, showcasing its commitment to making a meaningful impact in North Texas. Beatrice Kelly, Comerica Bank Senior Vice President and Director of Community Development Banking, shared her excitement about leading the charge in 2024 as the chair of the Comerica North Texas Women’s Forum board. “Through generous donations from our customers, colleagues, and the community, we have been able to send thousands of teens to prom in their dream dress over the past eight years,” she emphasized.

Expanding Horizons: New Partnerships and a Wider Reach

In a testament to Comerica’s dedication to community outreach, this year’s drive is set to expand its reach by including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County alongside Dallas CASA and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas. By broadening its network of beneficiaries, Comerica aims to touch the lives of even more teens, ensuring that the magic of prom night is a shared experience.

Where Dreams Take Flight: Drop-Off Locations Across North Texas

Individuals and businesses eager to contribute to this heartwarming cause can drop off new or gently used, cleaned formal dresses and accessories at six participating Comerica banking centers across North Texas. The drop-off locations include Chapel Hill-Tollway in Plano, Cole-Fitzhugh and Forest-Inwood in Dallas, Lovers Lane-Devonshire, NorthPark, and Parker-Premier in Plano.

A Decade of Dresses: Comerica’s Impact Over the Years

Since the inception of the Prom Dress Drive in 2016, Comerica has played a pivotal role in donating close to 6,210 dresses, with 625 of them finding new owners in 2023 alone. These contributions have not only adorned the shoulders of teens but have also woven a tapestry of support and empowerment within the community.

For those looking to get involved or seeking more information, Comerica has created a dedicated page at comerica.com/promdress. As the ninth annual Prom Dress Drive takes center stage, Comerica invites North Texas to join hands in making this year’s prom season an unforgettable one for the teens who will soon be dancing the night away in their dream dresses.
